eDocPrintPro free and PDF/A-1b, 2b, 3b & ZUGFeRD Version 3.25.3 available

Create several printers – With the “eDocPrintPro Tool”, additional additional printers with any names can be created.

With version 3.25.2, there were 2 errors that were fixed with version 3.25.3:

  1. When the first additional printer was created, a new printer monitor application was created and started automatically. This additional printer monitor, however, has 100% loaded the computer until the restart.
  2. Only a second additional printer could be created and no more. The other printers were created, but the required monitor application was not automatically started and not entered in the registry. Thus these printers were present in the printer list, but could not be used because no output file was created or the save under dialog was not high.

Create several eDocPrintPro printers – please note:

  1. The default printer created by the setup – “EDocPrintPro” must not be renamed or removed
  2. Additional printers can be created with any names and settings – The program “eDocPrintPro Tool” must be used to create this printer.
  3. For each additionally created printer a <print name> Monitor.exe is created, started and entered in the registry under “RUN”.
  4. If no PDF file is created for one of the created printers or if there is no “Save as” dialog, check whether the xxxMonitor.exe is present and started, or if the start has been entered correctly under the RUN key in the registry.

eDocPrintPro – EMail Plugin Version 5.6.5 – Search attachments

Innovations eDocPrintPro EMail Plugin Version 5.6.5:

Search attachments – In addition to the function to read email addresses or the subject of the email message to be generated from the PDF document, there is now also a function to add an additional variable document attachment to the email message automatically. The file path or name is searched for and read out in the document.

Features:

  • Enable / Disable Search & reading attachments
  • Set the beginning / end – search delimiter characters
  • Set default folders for the attachments if only the name should be read out or to display the file selection of this folder.
  • Option to display the file selection if the specified path / name can not be found.

 

New HTML Editor – with significantly more functions. Likewise, inserted images which are located on the local computer are encoded accordingly and automatically embedded in the HTML message without external references.

Innovations eDocPrintPro Version 3.25.2:

  • The current GhostScript AGPL version 9.21 is supported
  • The routines for the generation of PDF / A-1b, 2b, 3b and ZUGFeRD formats have been completely re-implemented.
  • In addition to ZUGFeRD XML, other files can also be embedded in the ZUGFeRD PDF. Only with ZUGFeRD option.
  • New version of the eDocPrintPro SDK 3.25 available to use the extensions from your own applications.

  • All plugins available for the eDocPrintPro can now also be used with the PDF/A & ZUGFeRD variant.

Depending on the plugin, it may be necessary to perform the action before the PDF/A or ZUGFERD processing. In order to apply a stamp or to deposit a stationery and only then to carry out the PDF/A and TRUE conversion as otherwise the conformity would be destroyed. On the other hand there are plugin actions, which can only be done after the PDF/A or ZUGFeRD conversion. Create a signature or send the created PDF file by e-mail. In order to control this, the INI file of the plugin provides the possibility to determine when (PRE, POST, LAST) the plugin action is to be executed.

Process=PRE – The plugin is run before PostScript to PDF conversion. The plugin can be used to prepare folders or to insert commands into the Postscript code.

Process=POST – The plugin is called after the conversion from PS to PDF and before an eDocPrintPro add-on postprocessing (SWF, PDF / A or ZUGFeRD) is executed. Required, eg. for the AddOverlay or PDFExport plugin

Process=LAST – The plugin is called after the eDocPrintPro add-on postprocessing (SWF, PDF/A or ZUGFeRD). Required, eg. for the EMail as well as signature plugin

If no add-on postprocessing (SWF, PDF / A or ACCESSORY) is executed, POST and LAST have the same meaning. If the “Process” parameter is not specified, the default value is Process = POST.

The INI files of the installed plugins can be found in C: \ Program Files \ Common Files \ MAYComputer \ eDocPrintPro \ Plugins.

GhostScript 9.21 Setup

Autostart – Run the application automatically when it starts – iPaper / eDocPrintPro

Some of our applications, e.g. iPaper.exe or other eDocPrintProMonitor.exe must be started automatically when the computer is started. If this is not done, however, you can check it yourself and correct it.

Normally, applications that are automatically started should be registered here:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

If a 32bit application is to be started automatically under a 64bit drive system, this is registered here:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

eDocPrintPro Tools – Version 3.24.8 available

Innovations eDocPrintPro Tools Version 3.24.8:

The tools eDocPrintProUtil.exe and ApplyEsf.exe have been modified. The file extensions for eDocPrintPro profile files have changed in an eDocPrintPro predecessor version from ESF to ESFX, which means that an adaptation was required. With the new tools, ESFX profiles can now be loaded interactively or loaded and activated via command line parameters.

The parameters / LOAD and / APPLY have been added to ApplyEsf.exe. With / LOAD the profile is only selected, but not loaded, while / APPLY selects the profile and loads it at the same time.

  • eDocPrintProUtil.exe Command line example to create 2 additional printers, load and activate an ESFX profile, and lock the user interface of the printer.

eDocPrintPro – Version 3.24.8 available

Innovations Version 3.24.8:

  • Custom formats for AutoCAD LT 2017: AutoCAD LT can only use custom sheet sizes if they are created as standard formats. This is not in accordance with Microsoft’s specification. In order to be able to use such individual page formats with AutoCAD LT 2017, we now simply save the custom formats under the standard formats. This solves the problem.

  • New routines for text extraction: There is an option to save the text from the printed document as a file in addition to the PDF / Image. For this function a new toolkit is used for PDF documents. GhostScript is used to extract the text for image documents.
  • File overwrite – message that the action is not possible: Output can be configured to overwrite an existing file. If this file was opened or blocked by another application, the application has not received a confirmation that the action could not be executed. With the current version the user gets now anyway feedback to be confirmed.

eDocPrintPro – PDF / A version 3.24.7 – contains ZUGFeRD format

So far for PDF/A and ZUGFeRD two different products have been offered. With version 3.24.7 eDocPrintPro PDF/A printer driver both products have been combined into one.

The great advantage – consequently possible to use all standard eDocPrintPro plugins for ZUGFeRD format.

Each of the available formats PDF/A-1b, PDF/A-3b and ZUGFeRD can be individually licensed and activated. The setup creates a printer named “eDocPrintPro”. Any additional virtual printers can always be created with different names over an installed tool. Here other default settings are possible for each of these virtual printers.

eDocPrintPro – Version 3.24.6 available

Innovations Version 3.24.6:

  • Create multiple printers – Fixed a bug that caused a 100% occupancy directly after applying several new eDocPrintPro printer. However, the utilization rate was back to normal after a reboot.
  • Setup – uninstalling – multiple created printers – The additional Monitor.exe applications were not uninstalled and the “RUN” key was not removed from the registry. In order for this program component has not been replaced or updated when you install a new version.

  • Embed All Fonts – Fixed –  If an user had no ADMIN rights the option “embed all fonts” leads to the following failure: in the PDF, the characters have been replaced by “special characters” and so that the PDF was unreadable.

  • Additional user rights on the generated file – PC users without admin rights had no access to the generated PDF files from other users. To enable that, now the full access for “Authenticated Users” is assigned to the created file.

  • Terminal Server / CITRIX – Seamless Application – Fixed – The default applied “eDocPrintPro” Printer does not generate output file in the “seemless“ mode. However, for additional applied printers with other names, and when used in the TS / CITRIX Desktop it has already worked.

eDocPrintPro DropZone – Version 1.3.7 available

Innovations Version 1.3.7:

  • Now all additional and with different settings and names created eDocPrintPro printerderivers will be supported. Each printerdriver can have configured different Plugin Sets. Those individual Plugins again can have different setting again in each printerdriver.
  • Functions for eDocPrintPro settings profiles (ESFX): import, export, create, rename, delete or activate a configuration profile for the selected printer driver.
  • A setup for both 32 and 64 bit operating systems

Note: Momentan erfolgt nach der DropZone Plugin Verarbeitung der PDF Datei keine nach gelagerte Aktion aus den eDocPrintPro “Aktion” Einstellungen d.h. es wird falls in den Druckereinstellungen konfiguriert keine verknüpfte Anwendung gestartet, die Ergebnisdatei nicht automatisch in einem Ausgabe-Ordner abgelegt bzw. auch keine Kommandozeilen Anwendung gestartet. Diese Aktionen müssen über entsprechend installierte Plugin´s durchgeführt werden – z.b. können die kostenlosen Plugins – “Copy to folder” oder “Aktion ausführen” dafür verwendet werden. Mit der nächsten Version werden wir die konfigurierten Aktions-Einstellungen des eDocPrintPro Treibers auch über die DropZone verwalten und ausführen.

eDocPrintPro – Version 3.24.4

InnovationsVersion 3.24.4:

Using eDocPrintPro from a Windows Service – Previously it was only possible to use the printer driver interactive – As of version 3.24.4 the driver incl. the configured PlugIns can also be addressed from a Windows Service. However, some peculiarities must be observed:

  • The service must run under a user account and the driver and the associated plugins must be configured under this user.
  • There may come up no dialogues – Everything must be configured “Silent” – If a dialog comes up so will the processing “get stuck” because the dialogue can not be confirmed.

To test this function a we created a sample program, which can be made single copies on a service to the selected printer driver.

Printing from a Citrix XenApp (streamed application) or Terminalserver RemoteDesktopApp – With Citrix and Microsoft Terminal Server 2008/2012, there is the possibility of applications running on the server to run in a window on the client as if the application would be installed on the local computer.  In this case can be used either the printer installed on the server, but also by the client “redirected” Printer. With the current version 3.24.4 these two printing options are now supported on the eDocPrintPro.
